6 Special Gifts That Give Back

Christmas is here and it’s so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of it all. The frenzy of Christmas shopping and the stress of it all can definitely get to you! I’m definitely guilty of this! We must not forget the REAL reason for the season. There would be no Christmas without Christ! As a believer, Christmas is a time to reflect on the greatest gift ever given, Jesus! With Christ at the center, Christmas becomes so much more than fancy presents and flashy lights. It’s a moment to stop and be in awe of His blessings and goodness. So Christmas doesn’t just stop at my own family tree, it extends. It’s reaching beyond your own capacity to impact the lives of those around you in a positive way. Wether that be volunteering, extending a blessing to a stranger or acquaintance, or loving on someone that might need it a little more this season.

For those still in need of gifts, I wanted to do something a little different for this week’s post. I wanted to highlight some of my favorite organizations and the ways in which they are making a difference in the world! I also wanted to feature some unique gifts that they offer, that give back and help further their efforts to impact people. So let’s all try to make this season a little less about getting and a lot more about GIVING!

My favorite organizations and great gifts that support their cause:

Compassion International – Compassion Gift Catalog $10 on up Shop (HERE!)

Compassion is one of favorite organizations! The work they are doing around the world through the lives of children is incredible! Their mission: “Compassion International exists as an advocate for children, to release them from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults.” They have an amazing gift guide that allows you to directly purchase an impactful gift, anything from a bicycle to chickens, for individuals in need! I personally sponsor a child through Compassion and it has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made.

FeedOne – Ethiopian Coffee $13 (HERE!)

This is a great gift for all those coffeeholics out there! Delicious Ethiopian coffee that supports the organization FeedOne. When you buy a bag of coffee, you feed a child in a third world country for a month! How cool is that!? Feed One is a great initiative started by Convoy of Hope that feeds nearly 150,000 kids in 10 countries all over the world. Their philosophy is that “Food is the doorway to provide a child with an education, a healthier living environment, clean water and a chance for a better life.”

“If you can’t feed a hundred, then just feed one.” Mother Teresa

FashionABLE – Mamuye Leather Tote $178 Shop (HERE!)

A leather tote a necessary staple in any wardrobe is a classic leather tote. Perfect for work or travel! This bag was handcrafted in Ethiopia! I love fashionable for their mission. They believe that, “The end to generational poverty will come when people are able to provide for themselves. We believe that social businesses whose aim is to alleviate poverty should use their business skills to create job opportunities for the poor, not give them more charity.” This organization does an amazing job at creating beautiful products that do good in so many ways.

Charity: Water- Minimal Leather Wallet $40 Shop (HERE!)

I’m all about minimalist wallets! The smaller the better. I love the simplistic look of this one. Perfect for any guy on your Christmas list. This is an extra special wallet because it helps support the organization Charity Water, which is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries.

Karama Collection – Mapacha Necklace $52 Shop (HERE!)

I love simplistic jewelry. It can so easily be dressed up or down. I’m also a fan of geometric shapes. These necklaces are so special and made with a great purpose. “Karama Collection Karama alleviates poverty by restoring dignity through creative, purposeful work for artisans, beginning in Africa.” This necklace is extra special to me because it was handcrafted by women living in Africa’s largest slum in Kenya, where I spent time at on a missions trip years ago! I have a bangle from Karama Collection that I wear almost everyday that says, “Be still and know.” I love the constant reminder!

A21 – White and Gold Freedom Tee $30 Shop  (HERE!)

Gold foil is everything! SO loving this gold foil tee from A21! Not only is it adorable, but it helps support the cause of A21, which I believe is one of the greatest causes on planet Earth. A21 exists to abolish injustice in the 21st century. They are fighting ONE fight, which is to end human trafficking across the globe. Make a statement with this tee!

Horacio Printing – 2017 Planner $43 Shop (HERE!)

The Horacio planner has been on the top of my Christmas list for awhile! Last year I got one for my sister for Christmas, and I so regretted not getting one for myself! Not only are they beautiful, the planner helps you organize your life in so many ways! The organizer provides you a space to create goals, reflect on praise reports, and refocus throughout the year. The best part is Horacio donates 10% of each purchase to A21. Horacio’s mission is: “To help individuals unlock their inner artist and connect with their God-Given purpose.” LOVE IT!

I hope I not only gave you a few new gift ideas, but also opened your eyes a little wider this Christmas season! Giving shouldn’t just look like fancily wrapped packages for your loved ones, but also in sacrificial giving to those in need. A21, Charity: Water, Compassion, and FeedOne are all organizations that are near and dear to my heart. I would encourage you to find organizations that make your heart beat, that embody your passions, and that inspire YOU this new year! Remember, the true essence of the Christmas Spirit is not in receiving but giving!

P.S. I would love to hear from ya’ll about other organizations that YOU love! Comment below.
